The human brain is an interesting organ. The subconscious mind operates on a level that we are often completely unaware of, yet it impacts our day to day functions way more than our obvious, active thoughts. As mothers, literally everyday, we have thoughts coming at us from all directions, thousands of them. If we are not intentional about keeping our minds in check, our subconscious can bring about some truly unwanted emotions and behaviors. The key to living the life of freedom that Christ made available to us is through victory in our minds.
We need to sleep better. If we don't acknowledge our subconscious, the important issues that we need to think through will haunt us at 3 o'clock in the morning. If we don't write down our to do list, our brain will repeat what we need to do over and over again until we do it. We have to learn the mental disciplines that will keep our thoughts from clogging our subconscious and waking us up in the middle of the night.
We need to be productive. Overthinking paralyzes us. Perfectionism makes us second guess our every move, or it keeps us working until absolutely everything is flawless and we are bunt out. Fears and doubts hide behind our excuses and procrastination. If we don't learn to trace our behaviors and feelings back to their source thoughts and beliefs, we will never be able to get enough done to find peace.
No one taught us that we can control our thoughts. We fall prey to our thoughts if we don't understand the power that we have over them. 2 Corinthians 10:5 tells us that we can and should capture our thoughts and force them into obeying Christ. That means that when our minds get our of line, we have the authority to correct it. The problem is that we never knew we had that power, and because we don't know that, we never try to figure out how to use it.
I am on a mission to teach moms how to use the power they have over their thoughts to get rid of anxiety, to overcome mom rage, depression, procrastination, self-doubt and everything else that the enemy throws at us. There are tools and methods for this! I'm ready to teach you if you are ready to put in the work. Start winning your mental battles.
